This year we're adding an exciting new series to our movie programming with the nation’s only regional tour of independent filmmakers and their work. Southern Circuit, a program presented by the Southern Arts Federation, brings our community an interactive way of experiencing innovative, engaging and imaginative new voices and visions on the independent film scene.
Since its inception in 1975, Southern Circuit audiences have seen over 200 films and have engaged filmmakers in post-screening discussions of the subjects and themes portrayed in their works. For six nights this season, we invite you to leave behind your televisions, DVD players, and computers and connect with filmmakers and their work. Southern Circuit transforms watching independent films from a solitary experience into a communal one.
The 2008-2009 Southern Circuit is a program of the Southern Arts Federation. Southern Circuit screenings are funded in part by a grant from the Southern Arts Federation in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and local partner organizations.
